Still wine
A wine without bubbles: it neither foams nor sparkles.
A still wine contains no, or very little, dissolved carbon dioxide: it neither foams nor sparkles. This is the case for most wines.
The specifications use the term to distinguish these wines from the sparkling or semi-sparkling wines that the same appellation may also produce, such as Vouvray or Gaillac.
